Do you have a designer backpack from five years ago that you don't use? Or a Hard Tail tee that you grew out of? Maybe a pair if designer shoes?

Why not make money off the junk sitting around your house? It's really easy too!

It can be intimidating to post your first item. But I promise that as soon as you do it once, you won't hesitate to do it again.

All it takes is a few clicks and some good pictures of the item. There are 13 steps here, but in reality, most of them take under 10 seconds. So don’t get overwhelmed!

13 Steps to posting an item on eBay

1. Sign up for a personal ebay.com account.

2. Click the 'Sell' button

3. Click the 'list an item' button

4. Type in a description of what you're selling in the text box.

5. Press enter and you can choose an existing item listed to model your item after or you can choose 'Continue without a match.'

6. Continue to add in details when prompted.

7. There are usually about six to seven required details and many more optional. Fill out the required and then any optional details that you know.

8. Add in whatever photos you have, the more the merrier. You should definitely not feel pressured to have top quality professional pictures. As long as the background is neat (you can use a blank wall, a carpeted or wood floor or a banket/sheet), you have nothing to worry about.

9. Write a description. Or use the AI descriptions. You can also copy the title as the description. Just note, if it's too much to write a description it's better to post without a description than not to post at all. You can't sell it if it's not posted!

10. Choose a price to sell your item at. You can search eBay to see what everyone else is pricing it at.

11. Choose your shipping cost. You can offer free shipping or a fixed rate. It's your choice.

12. Choose a shipping type. You can always change it later so don't worry.

13. And now for the fun part! Click "List it."

And you're all done!

Shipping

You'll be notified when your item sells. From there, you ship it with USPS or UPS. I recommend shipping with USPS first class. It’s the cheapest way to send an item. The second best option is USPS Priority mail, which is for heavier packages. Either way they’re both great and relatively low cost.
